12 Month Pledge Children of The Americas is very good at moving people and resources to where they're needed, and although cash gifts only represented about 18% of our total donations last year, cash is still essential for maintaining our work with the children. We spend $20k to $30k per year on food to stock our 5 nutrition centers over and above in-kind food donations, and we spend another $20k to $30k on school scholarships. Across the board, your cash donations are spent to provide: • food, cooking oils, condiments, etc. • school supplies for children and teachers • school scholarships, school uniforms and fees • construction materials • cooking appliances and refrigeration • support, utilities, and fuel for dining rooms • work vehicle maintenance and fuel • toys at Christmas time • administrative expenses Remembering that our administrative expenses only represented 3.7% of our total expenses in 2004, you can be sure that your cash donations are really going to the children.
